Pulmicort is an oral, inhaled medication that is often used to manage the symptoms of asthma. Pulmicort, also known by the generic name budesonide, is a corticosteroid drug that helps to control inflammation. Pulmicort can help manage difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, and wheezing. Pulmicort is in a powder form that is breathed in through the use of an inhaler. While Pulmicort can improve the symptoms of lung diseases such as asthma, it does not cure the condition and only controls symptoms when taken regularly over time. Pulmicort is not a fast-acting medication and should not be taken in case of an asthma attack.
